Well off to work I go…today it is the party food! Yummy! lol!

I am so excited about everything we have planned for you for the following 12 days. I am your second stop and the project I have to share today is actually something I dreamed of doing last year for Christmas but as you all know so well we get bogged down so easily with life when we really just want to create some beautiful things. Well this year I actually got a head start on my Christmas crafts and dragged the Tomato Cage out of the garage where I was hiding it for this special project.

I saw a similar project using a Tomato Cage as a Christmas Tree in a magazine…dont ask me which one I am terrible like that! I did create a Advent Calendar last year and I was totally in love with it plus my dd just absolutely loved it and it was her favorite thing to do first thing in the morning. So I did not really need to create another advent activity calendar but I did need somewhere to display my Christmas Cards. Being far away from my family makes me very sentimental like that.

Well here came the genius idea…with some string, rosettes, number tags & envelopes, office clips and my trusty glue gun I created this cute vintage advent card display.

Included in the 12 Days Grab Bag is a Advent Calendar Kit with 4 Envelopes, Number Tags 1 – 25 in PNG format and a Hybrid Template for those of you that wish to create your own envelopes. I also included a Cutting File template compatible with most Digital Die-Cutting Machines for those of you that own one of these machines.

Well first things first…Print out your Tags and Envelopes onto either Cardstock or Matte Photo Paper ( I prefer Epson Premium Matte).

Score the envelopes on the white lines as shown.

Fold and assemble as shown.

I wanted to use clips to keep the envelopes closed as I hang them on the Tomato Cage.

Trim your tags and use a circle punch if you have one.

Heat up the Glue Gun and get the Tomato Cage ready for some customization…

I crudely wrapped it with some wire to make a Christmas Tree shape. This one is a bit rusty and bent a new one would have been great but this is what I had and the end product is just sooo cute.

Next cut a 4 inch circle in half,

to create a cone shape to place over the exposed wire and prongs.

I played around with where I wanted to position my numbers etc. and it is starting to shape up…

oooh does this not just make you happy?

Now I started to decorate the numbers.

I used my Rosette’s from The Cutting Files my site dedicated to all things Hybrid and Digital Die-Cutters if you are interested in these handy and versatile machines and everything you can create with them be sure to check out The Cutting Files. I did a Video tutorial on youtube showing how to create Rosettes with the templates.

I backed the circle tags onto a rosette.

I folded a string in half and glued it to the back to make a hanging ornament.

I know this is a very image intensive post so here is a gallery of all the numbers I created from 1 – 25.

I created a garland with some more Rosettes and some string glued to the back.
