Project Life and my take on it…
December 22nd, 2011Project Life has appealed to me ever since Becky Higgins launched it but because there was no Digital version I was always a bit apprehensive to try it. Well after following Liz from Paislee Press and her solutions and the fact that Project Life is now Digital (Check it out at Jessica Sprague) I decided to just go for it.
I knew I wanted a physical album that I can ‘see’ what I have achieved every week BUT I also wanted to incorporate digital elements and do some hybrid kind of goodies. I ordered the Clementine Core kit, Album and Page Inserts. I opted for one set/style page protectors to just make it easier for me…one less decision to make. I also got the Digital kit.
When I received my package well I was so excited I just HAD to test it out.
Here is the full page spreads…
I added a 8.5×11 Page protector for Chrismari’s art…I love doing this. I am so overwhelmed with all the stuff she brings home and this will be just perfect to display and store it.
I did a mix of Digital/Hybrid and using the Core kit.
I printed out all the photos and some of the tags. I had one photo at 3×4 inches and added a label with a title to it. The dates was added with a ‘date stamp’ from the Smash line. We made some cinnamon rolls and I printed out the recipe and added it to one of the 4×6 inserts.
This was a very bare bones cliff note version…my Mom helped me remember what we did for the week. I have been using Oh life to document every day’s journaling…now just to remember to take photos!!! lol.
I printed out on of the 4×6 cards and added some stickers to it so when I folded it it made this cute effect.
Some close ups on Journaling cards I printed out.
And a collection of Hipstamatic pictures on a 4×6 card.
So what I can take away from this…it took me way too long, I need something more simple. I am so excited about this NEW Action Set by Studio Wendy and this amazing post by Steph at the Daily Digi. This might just be the solution I need so will use it for this week and let you know if it worked.

How fun that you started on it already! I bought Clementine kit+album too and I’m starting Jan 1st! I put all the protectors in the album yesterday and thought about how to do the first page.
BTW, I used a piece of that paper bag from Starbucks in my DD album today!
lol! I begged the guy behind the counter for a few extra bags so I have an extra too for my DD album!
I love this idea Mari! I’ve been wanting to do one but hybrid like you. Gonna check all this out and I LOVE your album so far!
I just bought the digi templates and the Cobalt set from Jessica Sprague and am waiting for my album and page protectors to turn up after Christmas. I can’t wait to get it all organised and yours looks wonderful Mari
Great start, Mari! Looking great, good luck keeping up with it
Mari this is fabulous. I am moving into the style of scrapping more and hope to incorporate traditional digital paper 12×12′s as well. Your album is looking fab!
Mari, this is wonderful – I really love the washi tape with your son!
Merry Christmas!
SO GREAT, Mari! I love it! I pinned it. You have some wonderful ideas here with the way you put things together.

Thanks Nicole, I had such a blast with last weeks I did it all digital and it made the process so much easier. I have just been so busy with my Mom here that i have not had a chance to post about it but I will asap. for christmas and our recent trip I did almost 25 photos…still don’t know how i am going to manage this one…lol.
Mari, this is awesome! Just what I had pictured in my mind. I’m also going to incorporate (and maybe do a separate album in the same kind of style) all those papers from school. I shared this post on my blog
Mari – I love your Project Life pages! So wonderful! I would LOVE to do this too!
The downside is that for me it would cost a fortune to order that wonderful Becky Higgins kits with the shipping – in fact the shipping is more expensive than the kits! eeeek!
Thanks for all the wonderful inspiration!
Hugs <3
